As part of your child's therapy team, some of your responsibilities as the parent include the following:
For cancellations or re-scheduling of an appointment, please contact Reception at 250-371-4100 x 0. Be sure to leave a message if you are calling outside of business hours. If it is necessary for our staff to cancel, you will be notified as early as possible.
Please remember – it is your responsibility to phone the centre to reschedule if you are unable to attend an appointment for any reason. If two appointments are missed without a cancellation call, we will assume you are no longer interested in receiving service. This may result in your child being discharged from our program(s) and a new referral will be necessary to resume services.
It is very important that you cancel appointments scheduled either at your home or our center if your child or any family members within the home are sick. This is for the protection of your child, as well as for the other children we serve and our staff. If our staff feels that your child is not well during a visit, they may suggest rescheduling your appointment. Similarly, if our staff are ill they will cancel the appointment and phone to re-schedule upon their return to work.
Symptoms that are a concern are:
Remember that before we reschedule, your child must be symptom free for at least 24 hours. Parents are encouraged to report any contagious diseases to our centre staff or Executive Director for the safety of all children, families and our staff. Our policies are based on the regulations of the Interior Health Authority for the safety and well being of all.
The healthy and safety of our staff and your child is very important while we are providing services. Our staff will commit to using only safe practices when working with your child, and we require you to also agree to the following terms when your child is receiving services, especially inside your home:
R.E.S.T. Workshop
We received physiotherapy for our daughter who was being considered for a helmet for plagiocephaly. From our first appointment to our last, we received wonderful care. The staff at CTFRC were always very friendly, welcoming, and had a great spirit. The Physiotherapist was very kind, gentle and provided us with so much knowledge!
The outlet to have a professional available for help and advice and direction was key in our success, along with the tips, tools and education I received. They are so great at checking in and making sure I know there are supports, if necessary.
Having someone to talk me through the stages and calm my nerves about [my child's] development is what helped me the most. the sessions were always super informative and gave great advice on what to work on with [my child]. Just having the peace of mind that we were on the right track. I appreciate the service so much and I would recommend to any concerned parent!
